ACID MOTHERS GURU GURU~Psychedelic Navigator~Important Records~AcidMothersGuruGuru features Mani Neumeier from the legendary and influential German Krautrock group Guru Guru as well as Kawabata Makoto and Atsushi Tsuyama from Japan's holy Acid Mothers Temple. The result is a fiery fantasy filled, loud/soft, colorful trans-generational psychedelic collaboration. The AcidMothersGuruGuru started in a spontaneous session in March of ‘06 in Nagoya, Japan. When the improvisation commenced the passionate excitement was clear to all in the room and it was then that this special psychedelic trio began. A Japanese tour was planned, an album was recorded and this recording is the fruits of this mutual musical admiration. While all involved will admith that this is a dream collaborations it was the Acid Mothers Temple guys who were worshipping Guru Guru in their teens. The AcidMothersGuruGuru is two generations of psychedelic rock joining forces for the 21st century.~US-07~07~169:-

BERMUDA TRIANGLE~Bermuda Triangle~Winter Solstice~US psychedelic folk band formed around Roger and Wendy Penney. Bermuda Triangle's wild psychedelic or delicately nuanced electric autoharp and transcendental vocals grew out of the late '60s Folk Rock scene. With an independent attitude, eccentric style and highly unusual instrument lineup, the group was unprecedented. Psychedelic Rock based around autoharp was unknown at the time, and there were very very few women playing bass guitar. This is an authorized rerelease of a 1977 album. It has been remastered and includes 6 previously unreleased songs.~EU-07~~159:-

BERMUDA TRIANGLE~The missing tapes~Winter Solstice~This is a compilation of Live and previously unreleased tracks from the 70's. It is from a band that broke ground in what has come to be known as the Psych Folk genre, and one of the few American Innovators to play in this style as it was mainly a British Movement. Characterised as having strong roots in folk music, but with electric and sometimes unusual arrangements.~EU-07~~159:-

BULLET~Execution~High Voltage~Early 80s metal from Germany produced by Dieter Dierks (Accept). Premier CD release for legendary Ruhr area heavies Bullet! Praised by connoisseurs as Germany's only worthy answer to AC/DC and Krokus, songs such as the title track, 'The Devil's Got You' or 'Cold Hearted Woman' showed that these Teutonic Terrors by no means had to take a back seat to the original Bad Boy Boogie bands~EU-97~81~159:-

BULLET~No mercy~High Voltage~Early 80s metal from Germany produced by Dieter Dierks (Accept). This '83 Dieter Dierks-produced successor to Bullet's excellent first effort celebrates its premier CD release as well. Although more commercial than the debut album (check the Slade-ish single 'I Sold My Soul To Rock'n'Roll' and the Dierks-penned ballad 'Baby We Can Talk' for evidence), 'No Mercy' remains a veritable tip for all heavies with a faible for Australian-style power riffin'. As with 'Execution', two rare bonus demo tracks (*) are included~EU-97~83~159:-

BURNING SAVIOURS~Hundus~I hate records~BURNING SAVRIOURS have been in Sweden, together with WITCHCRAFT, the main forces behind the mix of NWOBHM / stoner rock & 70's hardrock mixture for a few years now. "Hundus" is the 2nd effort from this band, and can boats of a good and varied album with crude and intelligent guitar riffs, a retro production, and a great album !!~EU-06~06~139:-

BUTTHOLE SURFERS~Piouhgd / Widowmaker~Latino Bugger Veil~These were the last 2 records they made before signing up w/ a major label. Upon its initial release in '91, Rough Trade claimed that the Piouhgd was pronounced "pee-owed." This explanation, as well as the spelling, were fabricated by the label unbeknownst to the band; the album title was intended to be unpronounceable.~US-07~~169:-

CARMEN~The gypsies = Papersleeve =~Air Mail Recordings~'75 album from nglish CARMEN with another 9 tracker of melodic progg. Maybe not as great as first 2 albums, but still enjoyable ! With Mini LP Paper Sleeve, with OBI, 2 bonus tracks & insert.~JAP-07~75~269:-

CLEAR BLUE SKY~Gateway to the seventh = Papersleeve =~Saturn Music~Thee legendary CLEAR BLUE SKY, with the follow up album "Mirror Of The Stars” which took four years to make. CUTTY SARK~Heroes~High Voltage~80s metal from Germany. Greeted with just as much applause as their debut LP, Cutty Sark's second (and, unfortunately, last) LP didn't leave a single question unanswered. Another strong after the "Die tonight" album.~EU-97~85~159:-

DALTON~Riflessioni : Idea D´Infinito = Papersleeve =~Vinyl Magic~Great progressive with great guitars and even better fluetes. In my humble oppinion oneof the best Italian progressive albums, and is of course very recomended ! Papersleeve edition.~EU-07~73~199:-

DAVE PIKE~Doors of perception~Wounded Bird Records~Dave Pike is a jazz vibes player who has made a selected number of fine jazz albums in the '60s and '70s. One of these is "Doors Of Perception". This album is making its worldwide CD debut and features Lee Konitz, Eddie Daniels, Don Friedman & Chuck Israel.~US-07~~169:-

DEBRIS~Static disposal~Anopheles~DEBRIS – “Static Disposal” is the pivotal mid-70s behemoth to emerge from the American private press underworld, a record which went on to inspire everyone from the Screamers to Nurse With Wound (NWW). A legendary reissue hailed in Ugly Things, The Acid Archives, and MOJO (a Jon Savage favorite). Recorded in Oklahoma City, December ‘75 and released in early ‘76, before the first RAMONES LP, and leading off with a song called "One Way Spit", DEBRIS' can now be seen as the most important proto-punk band, too often snubbed by "punk historians" who don't want to admit to having to rewrite their historical templates. The LP sounds almost contemporary today, with its aggression, angst, wild analog synthesizers, guitars and vocal experimentation, and a supercharged, avant-psychedelic recording quality. This is an updated to ‘07, second printing of the original ‘99 CD release, which features the original LP, carefully transferred from the master tapes, plus 40 minutes of unreleased basement recordings from the band's own Subterraneous Static Disposal office in Chickasha, OK in ‘75-‘76. The detailed 28 page booklet, with extensive historical notes from the band's own first hand experiences, is updated, and today still sets an archival standard for "roots of punk" documents, and has served as a model for such releases that have followed in its wake.~US-07~75~159:-

DEEP PURPLE~Live in San Diego '74~Purple~An electrofying performance by the MK3 line-up includes a magnificiant tweleve minute version of "Mistreated". This record is for collectors and is mastered from an original soundboard tape. Includes "Burn", "Might just take your life", "Lay down, stay down", "Mistreated", "Smoke on the water" and ends with a Jon Lord solo.~EU-07~74~179:-

DEJA VU~Bullets to spare~Karthago~Powerful Heavy Metal from southern Germany in the tradition of JUDAS PRIEST and other great 80s sounding Metal-acts. Absolute must have for european Metal-fans! big booklet with bandhistory, lyrics etc. !~EU-06~~149:-

DINO & MONTEVIDEO BLUES~Dino & Montevideo Blues~Lion Productions~The one and only album by DINO & MONTEVIDEO BLUES from '72deserves to be a serious contender as one of the most important, and as it happens, most grooving, records ever released in Uruguay. But there is another reason that the album has attained exalted status: the incisive power of the lyrics, which are all the more impressive considering the national turmoil out of which they were created. Montevideo Blues was founded by Uruguayan song-writing legend Gastn "Dino" Ciarlo as a way to fuse the rawness of rock music with obscure native Uruguayan rhythms like malambo, milonga and chamarrita-a logical direction to pursue after Dino had attempted pop/candombe fusions in his solo recordings. "At the time, we were revolutionary and looking for change," said Dino. Montevideo Blues demonstrated an unyielding and combative attitude. During live shows in '71, Dino often criticized the government-a level of political commitment reflected in the lyrics of the songs, some of the most radical ever set to music. Eduardo Mateo, the sacred monster of modern Uruguayan music, was succinct: "You have decided to prune the tree," he said to Dino. The album opens with one of Dinos most famous songs Milonga de Pelo Largo (Milonga of the Long Hair), a sinuous song transformed by the arrival of the dictatorship into a hymn of Uruguayan popular resistance. The rest of the album tracks have an edgy, atonal quality, with terrific unconventional angular guitar and a kind of ragged glory, all driven along by insistent grooving rhythms, whether from native drums or the clicking of drumsticks. Bonus tracks include beat-rockers Sendero de Rosas and Rubio es el color, from the rare "La Juventud" compilation album, as well as both sides of Dinos two early singles for RCA Vik. A 32-page booklet is packed with photos, detailed band history, and lyrics for this important Uruguayan band.~US-07~~159:-

DRNWYN~Gypsies in the mist = LP =~Wohn Records~Vinyl. First time ever reissue of the hard to find sole album by US duo Drnwyn. Wonderful record that has some very cool psychedelic moments (especially the track "The madman and the angel"), and a good number of fabulous folk rock midtempos. There's drums, bass and lots of acoustic guitars in here, but also electric leads, keys, mandolin and multi-part vocals with some female chorus as well. But most important, very well-crafted songs from start to finish. This was a private release back in 1978, and a very recommended album for those into folk-psych and folk-rock.~EU-07~78~189:-

DZJENGHIS KHAN~Dzjenghis Khan~Motorwolf Records~The new acid-fuzz hard-rock sensation from San Francisco, DZJENGHIS KHAN recorded their full-length debut album at Guy Tavares' Motorwolf Studio to capture their authentic virtuoso '71 motor blues sound on analog tape. Very reminiscent in style of LEAF HOUND and MOUNTAIN's heavier songs, but boy, these cats can boogie ! Really good and very recommended album !~EU-07~71~159:-

EL THULE~Green magic~Go Down~Second album of the italian-trio EL THULE. The new album it's a cerebral and lysergic mix of KYUSS, NEBULA and HIGH ON FIRE mixed up with sabbathian's fuzz and saturations!!! A second album where EL THULE demonstrate a perfect knowledge of the "sonorous dilatation" always powerful, lysergic and spasmodic but at the same time supported and forged by a whirling bass and by a guitaristic wall of tempered steel !!! 100% stoner-drug-rock attitude !!!~EU-07~07~149:-

ERGO SUM~Mexico~Lion Productions~Along with the two records by NURSE WITH WOUND favorites MOVING GELATINE PLATES, ERGO SUMS weird and wonderful album "Mexico" is an unusual portal into the intense creativity of early '70s French music. True, the bands are not musically similar; yet these three albums are distinguished not only by their instrumental richness, but by their unceasing sense of adventure. Wed go so far to say that Ergo Sum presents one of the most distinctive experiences in a rock idiom (apart from Zeuhl music juggernaut Magma) to ever come from France. The bands one and only album ('71) features the unique voice of Lionel Ledissez-his guttural sort-of-English language delivery described as being "somewhere between Familys Roger Chapman and a drunken Champs-Elysees taxi driver," although more sober comparisons to Tim and/or Jeff Buckley have also been made. The compositions develop at a relaxed pace; incredible jazz-inflected guitar, flute, piano and droning violin swirl around the vocals, and keep one submerged in, yet attentive to the intimate mood. Tracks full of instrumental richness-they simmer, rather than blaze, which makes the rewards ever so great for patient listeners. Bonus tracks include the superb Alls So Comic, one of the highlights of the "Puissance 13+2" Thlème label anthology, as well as both sides of ERGO SUMS musically relevant single from 1972. A fulsome 28-page booklet includes band history, photos, lyrics, and a contemporary '71 review from Superhebdo magazine. A three o-clock in the morning, slow burn album if ever there was one.~US-07~~159:-

FAUST~Faust = LP =~Lilith~VINYL. Legendary German experimental krautrock band formed in '71 by undisputed noise pioneer Uwe Nettelbeck. Faust garnered an immediate following due to its artistically extreme experimentations with music cut ups and other mixed sources hinging on cacophony and distortion. Don't miss their 1971 cult classic debut, now reissued with its original clear printed sleeve on 180 gram clear vinyl.~EU-07~71~199:-

FLAKE~How's your mother = Papersleeve =~Raton Music~So finally, another one of the lost Australian heavy progg albums are out. FLAKE were heavy and easily compared to the best era of MASTERS APPRENTICES, aka "Toast to Panama red" etc, with good songs, driven by guitars and superb songs. Really nice to see this out !! Includes 4 bonus tracks; "Teach me how to fly", "Quick reaction", "Down in Rio" and "How's your mother".~AUS-07~71~189:-

FLATMAN~Live at the Apollo Theatre~DIY~'07 album from German band, sounding more American souther rock style. FLATMAN is mostly among the heaviest Southern Rock bands around these days with plenty of guitars and this live recording proves that. Live, heavy southern rock, what more can we ask ?~US-07~06~149:-

FLOWER KINGS~Sum of no evil~Inside Out~First a brief note on the album title and its slightly unusual history, because initially, the new Flower Kings opus was to be entitled simply ‘Love’. Main composer and producer Roine Stolt says… “I intended to call the recording just ‘Love’ until I read with a surprise that The Beatles were releasing a new album with that title, so I guess the universe wasn\'t big for that much ´love` in one year. So by twisting the idea a bit, I came up with the alternative title The Sum Of No Evil, which sort of equals ‘Love’. It also gave us a great platform for using some of Ed Unitsky`s surreal art for the cover, that ´fish-bus` is funny and in tune with the hippie and flower power vibe but yet a bit of surreal Monty Python style too. There are way too many dark serious melodramatic bands out there, we wanted to be the colourful, friendly alternative.”~EU-07~07~169:-

FOCAL POINT~Liverpool, you're my soul~Kissing Spell~A new album of songs about their home city from a group who where the first band to be signed to The Beatles Apple label in the '60's.~EU-07~~209:-

FUCK VEGAS~Fuck Vegas~Go Down~FUCK VEGAS is bone crushing noise, kind of noise that wraps you up and it’s so goddamn huge that it gets hold of you and makes you wanna smash everything! Giulio Favero engineered these six tracks down at “Blocco A” studio, he played guitar in “Drop A Line” and succeded in capturing a sound that cuts through your whole body and makes it suddenly shake, helplessly. A powerful mix of grunge, noise and stoner rock, songs that continuously stop and go, loud melodies that breathe, change shape, run fast, stumble, fall down and get up again. A distinctive debut album, “fuckfuckVegas” is the best mix of Acid Rock and post-noise, between Kyuss and FU MANCHU, MELVINS and NEUROSIS, ONE DIMENSIONAL MAN and APHEX TWIN. “The natural state of brain is chaos”.~EU-07~07~149:-

FUEL FROM HELL~Fill you up with five star gasoline~Go Down~This is the band’s debut album, anticipated by some singles, “Vampira”, another single exclusive track and the video clip for Vampira. FUNKY JUNCTION~Play a tribute to Deep Purple~DIY~No secret anymore, but this band holds the MK1 line up of THIN LIZZY doing DEEP PURPLE covers, odd and bizarre, only wish Phil Lynott was the man behind the microphone..!~EU-05~72~159:-

GOBLIN~Profondo Rosso = 2 CD Digipack =~907~Masters of doomy & horror soundtracks. This one, together with "Suspiria" regarded as one of the best works up to date. I agree. A very nice looking 2 CD edition with 1 disc of alternate takes from the film versions, never released before, 36 tracks on both albums, totally !~EU-07~~239:-

GORILLA~Rock our souls~Go Down~Their third album, GORILLA finally define their unique heavy rock style to perfection. Never ones to follow the stoner rock by numbers approach, or be side tracked by fads and trends, “Rock our souls” contains heavy doom, high energy aggressive, progressive and regressive songs, played in a timeless heavy rock style that GORILLA have made their own. Influences are clear to see, BUDGIE, BLUE CHEER, GRAND FUNK, MC5 etc but played with a rough ‘street punk’ MOTORHEAD / PINK FAIRIES attitude and style, and an authentic ‘vintage’ feel and sound. Capturing the essence of a classic era of 60’s/70’s rock without sounding cliched is a rediculously fuckin hard if not impossible self imposed task, but with “Rock our souls”, GORILLA have achieved exactly that. A brand new gem that sounds like a lost classic.~EU-07~07~149:-

GRAND SOUND HEROES~Fuel~Go Down~A band which you can guess all about by the name. Their sound is Rock with a big, fat “R”, acid, mystical and as hot as a Death Valley noon. Powerful riffs sprinkled with melodic and psychedelic parts, a mix of stinging and mad guitars riding like wild horses. Their music leaves you with the feeling of being in front of various influences brilliantly mixed together, starting off from the 60s-70s up to some of today’s most interesting sounds.~EU-07~07~149:-

HENRY TREE~Electric holy man = Digipack =~1236~Wonderfull psychedelic acid folk fuzz monster from USA, '68. 6 tracks, of which a few are outstanding guitar driven madness from this powertrio. Some other tracks are more calm, but all in all a good spaced album. Digipack.~eu-07~68~159:-

HIRO YANAGIDA~Milk time / Hiro Yanagida = Digipack =~Second Harvest~Features both the albums of Japanese keyboard player. The "Milk time" is among the most diverse and craziest heavy psych albums you can locate in Japan '70 with plenty of crazy guitars, heavy organ sounds, violins and freaked our arrangements. Essential !! The self titled is more mature, but both are worth having !~EU-07~70~159:-

HOMESTEAD & WOLFE~Our Times - The Gold Star Tapes CD '73-75~Anopheles~Originally released in '75, HOMESTEAD & WOLFE's lone and unknown privately pressed LP is an artifact so lost to time, it has never appeared in any discography, list of rare records, or catalog, anywhere. However, exist it does, and now their story can be told. There are plenty of surprises here, as we located 6 unreleased tracks to augment the 9 tracks on the original album, including the startlingly great and dynamic cut, "Beat of the Drum", which sounds as if the Bangles were hired to front Goldenrod for a one off single. The full color 16 page booklet tells the story in their own words, features images of the touring group and recording sessions at Gold Star, and maintains the high standard of archival work Anopheles Records is known for. HOMESTEAD & WOLFE represents a highly unusual and strikingly original blend of unproven but talented young vocalists, top quality session players and engineering, and a truly rare chemistry that makes this one of the great folk-rock discoveries of the last 10 years.~US-07~74~159:-

LOSFUOCOS is a great power trio, they played many shows in the last five years with some italian and international great rock bands. Their full-length contain 11 tracks with a famous cover from the BEATLES too !!!~EU-07~07~149:-

MOS GENERATOR~Songs for Future Gods~Small Stone Records~Formed by Seattle scene veterans Shawn Johnson (ex-Mindfunk), Scooter Haslip (ex-Voodoo Gearshift) & Tony Reed (ex-Treepeople,Goodbye Harry). Mos Generator was a reaction to a post-grunge era full of watered down bar bands and radio friendly alt-rock, Reed and company felt the instinctual need to strip down to the basics of hard rock. Wearing their influences on their collective sleeve, ‘Songs for future Gods’, their second album, is full of Sabbath-esque riffs and a dynamic rhythm section that would put Mountain to shame.~US-07~07~149:-

MUTZIE~Light of your shadow = Digipack =~1236~Detroit heavy psych-blues outfit led by singer/guitarist Eric "Mutzie" Levenburg who was joined by his brothers Barry and Andee on bass and keyboards while drummer Marc White rounded out the roster. OJM~Under the thunder~Go Down~Forth OJM album “Under the Thunder”, which was recorded by Andreas Venetis at Red House Studio in Senigallia, under the supervision of an exceptional and great experienced producer: the original bassist of MC5 Michael Davis ! Its massive sound, an irresistible mix of LED ZEPPELIN, BLUE CHEER, STOOGES, MC5, BLACK SABBATH, KYUSS and FU MANCHU, credits OJM to be one of the best and charismatic bands in the international ‘70 influenced scene. This album proves to be brilliant, no elements of it disappoint: a thunderstorm of stargazing riffs enhanced by psychedelic, desert atmosphere grant to listeners a unique sonorous jewel, beginning with the most entertaining single “Sixties”, during the recording of which Michael Davis jumped out of mixer to pop into backing vocals.~EU-06~06~149:-

OPA~Opa~Lion Productions~This disc is a departure from the other reissues in our Uruguayan music series. Its not remotely in a psychedelic or rock idiom; it was not released on the mighty Sondor label. Yet when given the opportunity to reissue these "lost" sessions, we did not hesitate for a moment. This music is funky and jazzy, groovy and urban, even sounding like Fela (on Goldenwings at least); it has the sunny feel of sweltering days on South American beaches, but it also has a heavy dose of the grittiness of mid '70s New York City. There are connections to the great bands of Uruguay, of course: both Fattoruso brothers, so successful with their beat band LOS SHAKERS, greatly admired the work of the much less successful Eduardo Mateo, Ruben Rada and their band EL KINTO. Opa had their own style, and the critical acclaim for their recorded legacy would soon eclipse on an international level that of anything else from their native land. Included are versions of songs which would later be re-recorded the following year for Opas debut album for Milestone Records. Rhythm-laden tracks that range from the heavily funkified to chilled out, shimmering, and trance-inducing. A 16-page booklet includes band history and photos.~US-07~~159:-

OPHIUCUS~Ophiucus~Lion Productions~OPHIUCUS may be the name of an obscure constellation, but it's also the name of a French band that recorded an exceptional album in '72 for the Barclay label. All the members of the band had already enjoyed ample success in music before musician/actor Emmanuel Booz brought them together in '71: Jean-Pierre Pouret was a well-known session-man for Sylvie Vartan; brothers Alain and Bernard Labacci released albums as Tom & Jerry, and supported Jimi Hendrix for a TV appearance; Michel Bonnecarrere had founded the band Zoo (one of Andy Votel from the B-Music labels favorites), and was one of the composers, arrangers and musicians for that groups first two albums. Apropos of the period, the band members decided to live together as a small family in Flagy, a small town in France, where they lived a happy life, and wrote the tracks which adorn this reissue. This ambitious album somehow manages to blend grungy psychedelic rock, acoustic blues, and densely orchestrated French pop/psych (in an Ilous & Decuyper vein) into an impressive and cohesive whole. Sandy Spencer, cellist and member of Mormos contributed wonderful playing on Ne cherche plus and Inacheve. This reissue includes the original album plus eight bonus tracks in English meant to be the basis of an international album that was never issued. A fulsome 28-page booklet includes band history and commentaries on the songs written by Ophiucus, photos, lyrics (French and English), and a contemporary review.~US-07~~159:-

ORCHESTRA LUNA~Orchestra Luna~Market Square~Described by one critic on its ‘75 release on Epic as 'the soundtrack to a musical that never took place', Orchestra Luna is the first and only album by this innovative Boston based music/theatre outfit, whose modus operandi was a three-pronged one male/two female vocal attack with musical backing and spoken word contributions. Mixing poetry and music was commonplace then and practised by The Liverpool Scene, Occasional Word and Hawkwind with the late Bob Calvert. However, nobody quite achieved the fine balance of narration and music as Peter Barrett did with Orchestra Luna which worked into its repertoire an element of showbiz that harked back to Vaudeville and the glory days of early Hollywood musicals.~EU-07~75~159:-

Rex Fosters musical career has now spanned five decades and has included an album on the famous Barclay Records label in France in ‘70; being on the leading edge of the psychedelic movement in California during the late ‘60s; touring as part of the famed Medicine Ball Caravan across the United States and Europe with the likes of Van Morrison, Joanie Mitchell, B.B. RODS~Rods~High Voltage~One of the most beloved US power trios of the early 80s, the RODS burst onto the scene in '81 with a real bang - their selftitled major label debut LP, a revamped and repackaged version of their original independently released 'Rock Hard' LP, certainly raised more than just a few eyebrows. SCARBOROUGH FAIR~Best of English folk = 3 CD =~Castle~The folk revival that took place at club level during the Sixties introduced a whole new audience to traditional folksong, while also bringing to the fore the concept of the earnest young singer/songwriter. When, by the end of the decade, centuries-old songs were being given a sonic makeover by the new breed of electric folkies (headed by the likes of Fairport Convention and Steeleye Span, both of whom are represented on this collection), folk music had long since escaped out of the clubs and into the charts. This companion piece to similar 3CD sets concentrating on the Irish and Scottish folk scenes focuses on the astonishing depth of talent emanating from the English folk scene during this most tumultuous of decades. Every facet of the English folk genre is encompassed, ranging from club singers and trad folksong revivalists like Isla Cameron and Shirley Collins, the post-Dylan singer/songwriter (Donovan, Ralph McTell), folk-based fusion act Pentangle, and even such turn-of-the-decade acid folk iconoclasts as Synathesia and the mighty Comus. • Bands include; MR FOX, ISLA CAMERON, MARTIN CARTHY, DAVE & TONI ARTHUR, BERT JANSCH, JOHN RENBOURN, DONOVAN, LONNIE DONEGAN, RALPH MCTELL, MICHAEL CHAPMAN, SANDY DENNY, JEAN HART, LAL & MIKE WATERSON, SALLY ANGIE, HERON, DUNCAN BROWNE, KEITH CHRISTMAS, COMUS, SHELLY COLLINS, DAVE SWARTWICK, TIM HART & MADDY PRIOR, DAVE CARTWRIGHT, PENTANGLE, THE YOUNG TRADITION, AL JONES, HARVEY ANDREWS, JOHN JAMES, TRADER HORNE, CAROLANNE PEGG, MIKE COOPER, ALAN HULL, ROBIN SCOTT, CLIFF AUNGIER, SAWDUST BAND, ANDY ROBERTS, BOB BUSTING, DAVE SLESS, MARC BRIELY, ALBION COUNTRY BAND, DRANSFIELD, PRELUDE, BERNARD WRINGLEY, RICHARD DIGANCE, FAIRPORT CONVENTION, STEELEYE SPAN, ETCHINGHAM STEEL BAND, ROYSTON WOOD, SPIROGYRA, INCREDIBLE STRING BAND, T REX, DECAMERON, STEVE TILSTO, BLACK COUNTRY THREE,IAN CMPBELL, THE SPINNERS, LEE NICHOLSON, BOB PEGG, STORYTELLER, GRYPHON, GORDON GILTRAP, ANDREW CRONSHAW, GENDALL, LINDISFARNE & SYNANTESIA.~EU-06~06~189:-

SLOT~The Sweet Black Bear~Small Stone Records~The latest release from Michigan eclectic '90s rockers SLOT is the trio's final offering, as this 12-track disc is not only a compilation of the band's unreleased works, but also a tribute to Slot's guitarist Billy Rivkin, who lost his battle with cancer in 2004. Unearthed from 1995, the songs on THE SWEET BLACK BEAR display a top-notch strand of shoegazing indie rock with dashes of grunge rock bark, psychedelic rock starchasing, and desert rock heft intertwined, complete with dollops of atmospheric feedback and sustain, angelic female vocals, and guitars that meld harsh tones with lush waves of swirling distortion on cuts such as "Bat Nav". Projecting its underground dream rock vibes with a set of balls and a discernible bite, Slot's swan song yields fond memories and a plethora of excellent heartfelt rock with a timeless expiration date.~EU-07~07~149:-

SMALL JACKETS~Play at high level~Go Down~“Play at High Level” is nine tracks of bullet proof song writing from the supercharged accelerator “Extra Miles”, to the dirty swagger of “Jones Coming to Town”, to the instant hook of “Tell Me Baby”, this is the true spirit of rock ‘n’ roll, delivered straight from the heart, with no time for shallow trends or fickle scensters. So you’re in the frozen food section of your local supermarket playing air guitar and singing at the top of your lungs. A great high octane mix of rock n’ roll, ragged soul and hell for leather riffing.~EU-04~04~149:-

SMALL JACKETS~Walking the boogie~Go Down~Two years after “Play At High Level”, spent on tour playing numerous gigs, here they come again with “Walking The Boogie”, the new album where their sound meets blues, soul and funk influences keeping their rock’n’roll impact still strong ! The band still boasts influences from HUMBLE PIE, GRAND FUNK RAILROAD, TED UGENT, OTORHEAD, RAMONES, MC5, old Style attitude mixed with protopunk, detroit rock with Rollingstonian riffs and mysterious energies which, combined all together, become songs like “My Surprise”, “Born To Die”, “Maybe Tomorrow” and some acoustic peaks, stuffed with hammonds and symphonies such as the nine-minutes long “Wintertime” where Lu “Steve Marriot” Silver shows very well how the roughest rock can hide a sweet spirit inside.~EU-06~06~149:-

WE ALL TOGETHER & FRIENDS~Compilation~Lion Productions~Second joint effort of Lion Productions and Repsychled Records of Peru brings together an abundance of rare tracks recorded at MAG studios in Lima, Peru between '68 to '74 by members of WE ALL TOGETHER along with various musician friends of the time (and a few relatives too). Some of the songs are originals, others are covers—what they all have in common is the musical skill that Carlos Guerrero, Saúl Cornejo, Manuel Cornejo, Ernesto Samamé, Félix Varvarande and Carlos Salom brought to these varied projects—some recorded prior to, some after the creation of their great band. Eight different groups of musicians (ILLICIT, SMOG, CARLOS GUERRERO & NILO ESPINOSA ORCQUESTA, FE 59, CERRO VERDE, BETO VILLENA & WE ALL TOGETHER, and MONIK) produced rich and varied music of uniform excellence! Audio mastered from the original tapes using tube amplifiers by Saúl Cornejo, Miguel Yance and Andrés Tapia in MCA Studios, Lima – Perú; watercolors and drawings painted by Manuel Cornejo during '70 –'72.~US-07~70~159:-

WIZARDS FROM KANSAS~The Wizards From Kansas = Digipack =~Lion Productions~Very welcome reissue of this excellent and unheralded album that has developed a big reputation and price tag over the past decade—and why not, as it's one of the best US psych albums around, with fine versions of classic songs like 'High Flying Bird' and Buffy St. Marie's 'Codine', as well as excellent original compositions like 'Misty Mountainside', ' Country Dawn', and 'She Rides With Witches'; the band had some keyboard help from Mark Naftalin from Paul Butterfield's Blues Band, as well as additional help from a cast of hemp pickers, superdooperchicks, and other friends. Great stuff ! Digipack.~EU-07~70~159:-

XBXRX~Sounds~Important~Sounds documents the improvisational side of XBXRX. The band has built a reputation over the past decade for its singularly high-energy live performances and committment to pushing the limits of rock music forms and Sounds is the next step in this progression. Through the years improvisation has been a major part of the XBXRX live show, but remained unrecorded until now. The album features 7 improvisations of distinctive character and mood ranging from frenzied storms of white noise to pointillistic chamber music. XBXRX has constantly toured the US since 1999 and is scheduled through 2007 currently. The band has garnered a strong profile in recent years through its association with Polyvinyl records, releasing the acclaimed albums Sixth In Sixes (2005) and Wars (2007.) Sound will definitely appeal to those attracted to the experimental aspects of XBXRX and reconfirms the band's long-running solidarity with the noise scene.~US-07~07~159:-
